I buy books regularly but always make it a point to get to a comic shop on FCBD. It let's me try new things that I might not have picked up otherwise. Last year's find was "Atomic Robo", and this year "The Stuff of Legend" really blew me away -- it looks like a really sweet book that I'm going to be picking up regularly. My biggest fear though is that the too many of the people who come in for free books won't want to come back when they have to pay for them. The good folks at Westfield Comics here in Madison, WI do a great job of making it an Event, I'd hate to know that they were doing such good work in vain. The best description I heard of FCBD while I was waiting in line was that it was like "a National Holiday for geeks". FCBD is definitely an awesome event that I look forward to every year.
