Used bookstores with Graphic Novels rule!

The Illiad Book Store in North Hollywood, one of the best used book stores in Los Angeles, has opened up their new extension which includes an entire aisle of used graphic novels. I’m picking up a copy of the Daredevil Vol. 2 hard cover by Bendis and Maleev.

I used to live not far from there. What a great book store (complete with cat)! I still miss it…

That’s awesome! How much are the books in comparison to the cover price? I live in SoCal, and might just make a day trip out of it! Haha

If you’re ever in San Francisco, you HAVE TO go to Green Apple books on 6th and Clement. They have a huge wall of used graphic novels (let alone a fantastic selection of used books). Plus, half of them were once owned by me, so you get a piece of history.

The hard cover I bought was retail $29.95 and I got it for $15. It’s really in off-the-shelf condition, too. So 50% off. Most of the books I was looking at that were in the $30 on up range were 50% off and they had good stuff there, such as the Plastic Man Vol. 1 Archive from DC that’s excellent.

Cool! There is a gigantic used bookstore here in Jacksonville that is big on graphic novels and manga, carrying hundreds if not thousands of these. I’ve found lots of cool books at half off cover.

Used hardcovers are a great deal, because they hold up so much better than TPBs. Used bookstores with comics kick ass.

Over in Pittsburgh, we’ve got Half Priced Books. Their used graphic novel selection isn’t the best, but you can pick up great single issues for usually .50 to a dollar. I got the whole NYX run for about 4 bucks, along with a dollar for the first issue of Saga of the Swamp Thing
