Another Free Comic Book Day comes to an end…

It was a great one this year. Flying Colors Comics and Other Cool Stuff not only thought of FCBD, but they totally owned it. I really wish there were more hours in a day as I was still pumped for more after heading there and Isotope. It would have been killer to stop by Berkeley’s Comic Relief, San Francisco’s Comix Experience, Comic Outpost and the store bad ass enough to be home to my pull box, Neon Monster!
For now, it’s time for me to hunker down and get to work in my studio. I have a top secret script I’m editing on the screen, tunes from unmastered demos of a killer upcoming album to listen to and an insane stack of Barry Windsor-Smith comics/art books to read.
Y’know, I also gotta call back ELEPHANTMEN artist Moritat about France and steampunk superheroes.

Even after Basie is gone…

…the Isotope is still hopping in a big way. Lots of folks psyched for comics, free and otherwise!

I gotta stop by my favorite funnybook shops, including SF’s own Isotope!

And after a very successful signing it’s time to head to the airport.

…Flying Colors Comics & Other Cool Stuff is still packed to the gills with a long, yet well flowing line.

Even after an hour of regular traffic the line is still moving and very long!

It’s barely noon and this is already a very successful event for all involved!

In fact, it was this very Baskin Robbins’ Free Cone Day that inspired Flying Colors owner Joe Field to develop Free Comic Book Day.
