Here’s the completely insane line for Collector’s Corner’s FCBD.

There were folks camped out since 4 PM yesterday afternoon.

Ready for FCBD at Baltimore’s Collector’s Corner

Gonna give away a small stack of these super rare Glory #34 CBLDF variants to the fine folks at Collector’s Corner. Amped to spend the day with everyone there, including my pal Brandon Seifert, my other pals from Hoax Hunters, Cary Nord and a bunch of other future pals.

My Isotope purchase…

…a full run of Basie’s MASKED MUTANT!

Another Free Comic Book Day comes to an end…

It was a great one this year. Flying Colors Comics and Other Cool Stuff not only thought of FCBD, but they totally owned it. I really wish there were more hours in a day as I was still pumped for more after heading there and Isotope. It would have been killer to stop by Berkeley’s Comic Relief, San Francisco’s Comix Experience, Comic Outpost and the store bad ass enough to be home to my pull box, Neon Monster!
For now, it’s time for me to hunker down and get to work in my studio. I have a top secret script I’m editing on the screen, tunes from unmastered demos of a killer upcoming album to listen to and an insane stack of Barry Windsor-Smith comics/art books to read.
Y’know, I also gotta call back ELEPHANTMEN artist Moritat about France and steampunk superheroes.
Looks like this one’s TO BE CONTINUED!

Even after Basie is gone…

…the Isotope is still hopping in a big way. Lots of folks psyched for comics, free and otherwise!

photo.jpg

They also had a creator signing earlier…

…the 8-year old creator of MASKED MUTANT, Basie S! Here’s a sketch of Image favorite, Mike Allred’s MADMAN!

Oh, it’s not over yet, baby!

I gotta stop by my favorite funnybook shops, including SF’s own Isotope!

And after a very successful signing it’s time to head to the airport.

Congratulations to Flying Colors for such a successful event! Thanks for having us!

I just can’t leave Flying Colors without buying books!

Especially on a day like today. Great, great Free Comic Book Day events. Big thanks to Joe, Libby and the whole FC crew for having us at such an awesome FCBD.

The people keep coming!

It’s 3 PM and things are as busy as ever at Flying Colors Comics & Other Cool Stuff! LOTS of people coming in of all different ages. They know how to do FCBD right here!

Not only is JERSEY GODS writer Glen Brunswick signing…

…but readers lucky enough to come to Flying Colors also get a FREE copy of JERSEY GODS #1 as well as a coupon good for $1 each JERSEY GODS #2-5 or $5 off the trade! Offer only available here in Concord, folks!

Eric Jones creates The Most Commercial Character of All Time!

Watch out, evil! Here comes WOLVERMOUSE! Aa

One battery charge later and we’re back to taking photos!

And Flying Colors? Yep. Still super crazy packed.

Two hours in…

…and the store is as packed as ever.

Glen Brunswick gives sage advice to the next generation of comic fans!

“Read Jersey Gods,” Glen said.
“But I’m two,” the little kid exclaimed. “However, I appreciate being corrupted into a comics fan thanks to your fine work!”

In case you’re wondering…

…Flying Colors Comics & Other Cool Stuff is still packed to the gills with a long, yet well flowing line.

photo.jpg

Even after an hour of regular traffic the line is still moving and very long!

It’s barely noon and this is already a very successful event for all involved!

The huge line wraps around Baskin Robbins…

In fact, it was this very Baskin Robbins’ Free Cone Day that inspired Flying Colors owner Joe Field to develop Free Comic Book Day.
